G4 has announced the cancellation of their only game-centric programs, Attack of the Show! and X-Play.

This doesn’t break my heart as much as I was expecting it to. The shows had their good run, but that run ended years ago in my eyes.

I’ve never had G4/TechTV. I just used to watch it at my sister’s house in the states and the times when our satellite would give us a free sample for a month, usually around November(back when the US version was starting to suck but the Canadian one was still good.)

I was never a huge fan of Attack of the Show! but I did like X-Play back then and shows like Screen Savers and Leo Laporte’s stuff.

Even though most of the shows that made the network great are a former shell of what they used to be, it’s still kind of sad to see them go. I’m kind of being nostalgia bombed over here. I don’t think I realized how much I missed a proper technology channel.
